America Lost A True Hero
THE LOSS OF BARBARO
January 29, 2007 at 10:30 a.m., Barbaro was euthanized at the New Bolton Center. He peacefully went to sleep in the loving arms of Mrs. and Mrs. Jackson, his human Mom and Dad. Dr. Dean was also present along with the many members of staff who have loved him and cared for him during the eight months he spent at the hospital.
His passing has devastated a nation. At least 16 countries would light candles for him, praying for him to make a full recovery. The world lost a true American Hero and he will be loved and missed for the rest of our lives.
Barbaro has taught the world about unconditional love. He has shown us spirit, strength, determination, courage and how to not feel sorry for yourself. Because of Barbaro, the world for horses has improved. People who watched him get hurt, petitioned to have poly track installed at race courses.
People who followed Barbaro on a daily basis, have become aware of horse slaughter and are becoming a voice for these silent animals and are working to stop horse slaughter. Barbaro is the true hero here, he has sparked the world into stopping slaughter and for us who love him, we will make sure we get the horse bills H.R.503/S.311 passed this year by our daily phone calls and faxes to Congress. To do anything less, would diminish the impact that our boy Barbaro has had on us.
Pro slaughter will tell everyone that horses are livestock. Barbaro proved this not to be the truth. There is grief counseling for the loss of Barbaro, this is not something offered for livestock. People will say Barbaro was the exemption, but that is not true. Those who followed the recovery of Barbaro, now will have a different look as far as their horses go.
Please help keep Barbaro alive. Visit www.timwoolleyracing.com and go to the forum and see what you need to do to make this world a better place for all the horses. You will find comfort there, you will feel Barbaro's spirit in everything we do. I am proud to be a Fan of Barbaro and an Ambassador for Barbaro.
God bless you Barbaro, thank you for coming into my life, I will not let you down, I will complete your mission in life. I Love You and all those who love Barbaro.
