Re: 400 Horses to be slaughtered today and Thursday in slaughterhouse in Kaufman, Texas
There are 400 “healthy” horses in the slaughter house in Kaufman, Texas that will be brutally slaughtered on Monday and Thursday of this week.

Although our officials say that they are slaughtered “HUMANELY” and “ONLY” the old and neglected horses are slaughtered, this is far from the truth. Enclosed are pictures of some of the rescued horses from the slaughterhouse. Some still have their tags on them. These horses were saved by Grace Foundation of Northern California and you can see them there. One colt is only 2 months old, there are other colts, pregnant mares, draft crosses. All of these horses ARE healthy. The organization raised enough money to pay the killer buyers the price per pound. Most of this money was raised by children by donating babysitting money, having yard sales, raffling off their possessions. This is a sad society when because of our lack of saving the horses, our children feel they need to help make a difference.

These horses are on the guidelines “NOT” to slaughter, yet they are. I am a Fan of Barbaro and very active with HR 503/S 1915. You need to see some of the video’s out there (I can provide you links). You will see how these poor innocent healthy horses are shot in the head by a captive bolt to stun them, then they are hoisted up by one rear leg while their throats are being slit. Facts in this issue is that these horses are NOT stunned, they are frightened, and feel every bit of pain until they have bled to death. This is sick and I am asking you to please cover this story.

I am hoping that you can get some media coverage out to Kaufman, Texas this morning. All you have to do is talk to the Mayor Bacon there, she has been fighting for years to have this stopped. There is speculation that there will be demonstrations today and you may want to have your news crew there.

I emailed the Governor of Texas asking him to pardon these 400 horses. Between the thousands of us that go on Tim Woolley Racing website, we could help a rescue to pay the killer buyers for all these horses. I’m sure many children would love to own them, they are Healthy and that is against the government guidelines for slaughter.Please make the difference. Please save our horses!
