STATES NOT ALLOWING HORSES TO BE HAULED BY DOUBLE-DECKER TRAILERS

There are only 4 states where it is illegal to transport horses via double-decker…

1. PENNSYLVANIA
2. NEW YORK
3. MASSACHUSETTS
4. VERMONT

If you see horses being transported in one of these trailers, in any of these states, you are encouraged to contact a 911 operator and report this as well as reporting it to the local large animal humane society.
Most other states have a statute in their animal cruelty laws that states, a horse cannot be transported in any vehicle where it cannot stand to full height. Basically, if a horse cannot stand with its head in an upright position, it is illegal to transport them in that trailer. Something to think about for those states who are allowing them to be transportated in double-deckers!
